The Enterprise Data stack leverages StackIQ Cluster Manager to bring enterprise-class management to Big Data clusters. It was designed from the ground up to deploy and manage large-scale cluster infrastructure. It combines StackIQ’s industry-leading cluster management solution with our Apache Hadoop™ management software providing everything you need to install, configure, deploy, and manage your Apache Hadoop™ cluster — right from bare metal. Using StackIQ Enterprise Data makes the job of building a robust, production-grade big data cluster that can reside in any enterprise data center easier than ever.

StackIQ Enterprise Data in Amazon EC2

In addition to running on physical machines, StackIQ Manager is designed to run in Amazon’s Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) environment.

You can use Amazon EC2 to test your Hadoop to application before committing to purchase new hardware, or to provide extra capacity of an existing cluster.

Solution Components

With StackIQ Manager, you won’t be left on your own to deal with any aspect of your Apache Hadoop cluster. We include everything “in the box” to support the Hadoop distribution of your choice.

  • StackIQ Cluster Manager
  • StackIQ Hadoop Manager
  • Apache Hadoop™
  • CentOS Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Benefits

Reduced time to production — Choose the software you want, set key parameters, then sit back and let the paral-lel Avalanche installer build your Apache Hadoop™ cluster right from bare metal. There is no faster way to go from pal-let to production.

Ease of operation — The StackIQ Enterprise management software for Apache Hadoop provides all the tools you need to keep the cluster healthy and operating efficiently. Competing products do not integrate Apache Hadoop management and cluster configuration and deployment. StackIQ Manager handles your complete cluster environment from a single pane of glass, providing our users greater uptime, efficiency, and performance.

Extensibility — Modular architecture lets you customize your cluster to suit your particular needs. Our platform allows for the management of any application in your Big Data environment through the Open Source Rocks frame-work. A wide variety of software components are readily available, or you can build your own.

Reduced time to scale — When it’s time to scale out your cluster, StackIQ Manager makes it easy. Since the de-ployment and management engines were designed for scale, expanding your cluster or creating new ones at other locations is straightforward. No scripts to edit. No configuration guesswork.

Choice — Choose your favorite distribution from Hortonworks, MapR, Cloudera, or Apache Hadoop — StackIQ can handle them all.
